Welcome

The Michigan State Horticultural Society (MSHS) is an educational organization, organized in 1870, with a mission:

Supporting the Michigan fruit industry through research and education

The Society co-hosts, along with the Michigan Vegetable Council, the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market EXPO each December. The Expo includes exceptional educational programs and a large trade show. The educational program encourages improved methods in the production, harvest, handling, storage, marketing and utilization of fruit and vegetable crops, as well as a full farm marketers program. The convention draws speakers noted as premier in their area of expertise from throughout the United States and the world. The Trade Show is the largest east of the Mississippi River. Participants are generally fruit and vegetable  growers, farm marketers and industry people from the U.S. and Canada.

The Michigan State Horticultural Society also supports the Michigan State University Extension regional educational meetings.

The Michigan State Horticultural Society supports the Michigan fruit industry, which contributes significantly to the health, well being and enjoyment of life for Michigan citizens and people throughout the world.
