2021 Tatter Scholarship Recipients

Undergraduate

Anna Baker (Michigan State University)

Anna is currently working on a degree in Horticulture, planning to graduate in the spring of 2023.  Last summer, Anna interned at Endeavor Ag and Energy.  She was responsible for scouting cherries, hops, apples, grapes, blueberries and row crops.  This hands-on experience was an important benefit to her horticulture education.  After graduation, Anna hopes to continue to work in agriculture, possibly as a crop consultant.

Graduate

Charity Goeckeritz (Michigan State University)

Charity is planning to graduate with a PhD in Horticulture with an interest in plant breeding, genetics and biotechnology.  While at MSU, Charity has worked with the Horticulture Organization of Graduate Students which is dedicated to academic, professional and social experiences.  Charity has a high level of enthusiasm for plant sciences, which included her current work developing a reference genome for Montmorency.  After graduation, she hopes to create or continue a plant breeding program, working to improve fruit trees in Michigan.
