2022 Tatter Scholarship Recipients
Undergraduate
Ila Tuller (Michigan State University)
Ila is majoring in Entomology with an anticipated graduation in the spring of 2023. She is a member of the Student Horticulture Association and the MSU Bug Club. She worked in the Isaacs lab focusing on blueberry pollination, SWD control through the Samba wasp, grape berry moth trapping and spotted lanternfly preparation. Ila hopes to go to graduate school upon graduation and will continue her education in fruit and vegetable crop entomology.
Graduate
Elisabeth Darling (Michigan State University)
Elisabeth is planning to complete her PhD in Entomology in the fall of 2023. Currently carrying a 4.0 GPA, she has excelled in her work on learning how to manage difficult fruit and vegetable pests. Her dissertation will provide information on the spread of nematodes across Michigan and offer both biologically-based and chemically-based nematicides to Michigan vegetable growers. Elisabeth’s career goal is to start an IPM company after gaining more skills working in industry for the next decade.
